Parks and recreation boards work with city, county, and/or state officials to administer and manage public parks within the district. Parks and recreation boards often work in conjunction with city, county, or state agencies to adopt annual budgets and set overall goals. Parks and recreation boards sometimes have not only parks, but museums, zoos, monuments, and other cultural institutions that fall under their jurisdiction.
